ebay needs to get back to basics .

ebay has had a shake up of the system , not hiding the point , they want to hang on to your money as long as possible to make there profits , but i'am not sure this will work , my sales are down with the addition of charges on listing prices , fully tracked postage (more cost added) .

I'am looking for a alternative selling platform or maybe like minded sellers have started there own ?

If you were properly registered as a business seller, the new buyer fees and the payment holds would not apply to you.

Do I need a business account?

If you plan to sell casually, such as selling items you no longer want, a private account is the best option.

If you want to sell large quantities, if you have items that you've made or bought to resell or if you already have a business outside of eBay, you’ll need to register a business account.
