ebay hacked?

bank statement has a payment of 1.73 to ebay yet on my purchases no record of this,  on same day 27 august a payment of 5.42

No, eBay hasn't been hacked, and even if that were possible a hacker isn't going to take the princely sums of £1.73 and £5.42.

Why do you think they have hacked your ebay account if these are not purchases on your ebay account?

It could be that these are test purchases by someone who has hacked your bank account,
