I read that ebay will always support a buyer complaint "no matter what". I can see this is to give confidence. But... I am considering selling some expensive and quite fragile things. EASY CASE : What would happen if a buyer says it was broken when received ? OK I refund and get the thing back , and I guess this would be so even if I think "you broke it yourself". But I cant really expect any different, its a risk of selling something.
DIFFICULT CASE : what if he breaks it 6 months ,18 months , 5 years after delivery, claims its only just been opened and he found it broken. Where does e bay saying they will always accept a complaint leave the seller ? If "I must always refund" applies, can a seller ever be sure he has actually sold something ? So :
1/ Is there a time limit imposed by e bay ?
2/ Is e bay not sensible for expensive and/or fragile things ?
Sorry if this sounds a bit paranoid. I cannot find any other way to send a question. My thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Ebay allow a buyer 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to raise a case of not received or a return request.
However,if you refused to refund, ebay can place a defect on your account, or the 30 day time limit is exceeded a buyer can still arrange a chargeback with there payment provider with certain time restraints where eligible
Many delivery services will not cover fragile items like glass etc,so always a good idea to check there website to see what you can claim for.

Do you not understand that the Ebay 30 day money back guarantee, means what it says,30 day. Payment providers will in some circumstances make charge backs up to 6 months into the future, possible longer.
Fragile items do break but buyer is expected to inspect on arrival, and claim then. You as seller are expected to use the correct method of delivery which covers you for damage and for full value, so you can claim.
Be aware that most couriers do not cover damage and value is limited to about £20. Whatever method you use it is up to you to read their Terms and Conditions before using, it is no good reading after the event to find you have no claim to make, but buyer must be refunded.
