contact ebay

How do I contact ebay ? I have tried lots of areas of the website, and left messages, but no-one from ebay has replied.

My problem is this- I have a credit card registered ok, and have made purchases using it ok. But the last purchase I tried to make went through showing an old card number that is dead and is no longer registered on ebay. The order did go through to the seller, so I got in touch with him and he cancelled the order. But because it had gone through, he had to issue me a refund. Of course I still want to order the item , but dare not in case the same thing happens again. And cannot make any other purchases until ebay sort out what has happened.

So can someone tell me how to contact ebay.

And ebay - PLEASE HELP.

Re: contact ebay

Check your card details at My eBay > Account tab, near top left > Payments > manage or delete.   If you need to contact ebay you can do that tomorrow using callback on here:

Re: contact ebay

under

Payments

Cards and accounts

my correct credit card no is shown, and the dead one is not shown

But this is as it was before

So how do I know if ebay will not make the same error as before ?

And who I contact if it does ?

I need answers to both of these questions before I try to make any more purchases.

.

[ I did get a reply to one of my messages which quoted a reference -

Email reference ID: [#7c74d26ad5204b338131cb65d2108cce#]

But ebay have not followed this up, and the message came from a 'no-reply' email address, so I am again without any means of contact

Re: contact ebay

You need to contact ebay CS when they open in the morning.

Re: contact ebay

I assume that CS means 'customer service' I have been on there umpteen times and all I get is a stupid chatbox which does not understand the problem. It is up to your IT department to go into their system and find out how the problem arose. Can you give me their email address, please

Re: contact ebay

You are not speaking to eBay here,  we are members like yourself.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Re: contact ebay

Today I received an email from ebay, to which I have replied as below -

====================================

Email reference ID: [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]

Today I have had an answer from no-reply@ebay.com telling me "Your eBay data report is ready". This contains two files.
The first is headed "Data Processing Information" and contains a lot of semi-legal gobble-de-*bleep* about rights and privacy.
The second, called "index" is headed "Data reports for pcscotland xxxxxxx - xxxxxxx" and holds two reports - "Customer service report" and "Data Processing Report".
Trying to open both of these reports gives the same message - "Your file couldn’t be accessed".

I am no nearer finding out why ebay has been using a dead credit card number, nor what they are doing to rectify the situation.

The problem arose with your order no xxxxxxxxxxxxxx dated xxxxxx, when I noticed the dead credit card had been used. I contacted the supplier xxxxxxxxx to cancel the order. By that time the order had gone through and the seller kindly refunded the payment. I do not wish myself and other sellers to be faced with this problem.
Please help me

Re: contact ebay

We do not have access to your account and can only advise what you can do

You must use the link tressygirl provided in post #6 and select 'have us call you' to get a callback from eBay to sort your issue
