Hi, I have been trying to buy a chainsaw body which apparently Ebay now requires age verification for. The credit card details option repeatedly didn't work. So contacted Customer service. They sent me a link to up load a passport photo - which I did and the email promised 72 hour turn-around. That came and went and no age verification occurred. Contacted them again to be told it would be sorted within the day but why didn't I ask the seller to relist the item without chainsaw in the title (?!?). The day passed and the age verification didn't happen. And the seller didn't relist. Contacted C.S. yet again and was put through to their third level of on-line support. This one tried to gaslight me by telling me that Ebay's software wasn't at fault, it was obviously my browser. So I tried again with the credit card on a different brand browser - nope still the same error message. Then they tried to tell me my credit card was at fault - nope it works fine. I pointed out that Ebay evidently had some issues since I had passed them my passport details 5 days ago for them to manually age verify and they hadn't done that. At which point the CS said they'd pass it to an offline team and ended the chat. So I am now 1 week on, unable to verify my age and with no means to contact the 'offline team' if it exists. Has anybody else had the credit card route error message and been able to find how to get it to work?

An everyday use Debit Card will not be accepted by eBay --- must be a (Monthly Statement) Credit Card to prove/verify your age as being over 18 --- > discuss Credit Card solution with family and friends --- they may be able buy on your behalf > see the updated Bladed items Policy >

It is a credit card, monthly - had it for almost 40 years. It is not a debit card.
