Year to date selling total : Which year?

Does the year to date selling total run for the calendar year ending on 31 December or the financial year ending on 5 April?

As the year that has to be reported, is Jan. to Dec. I would think that is the year used.

Look at sales from January, a rough check of total should confirm if I am correct.

It is the calendar year and will reset December 31st.
