Wrong item in collection locker

I recently purchased a fishing reel. I requested click and collect. When I went to the collection point and scanned the locker opened as it should and I collected the parcel. The label had my name on it and the tracking number when I opened the item it was not the fishing reel I had ordered but a denim shirt. I contacted the seller in case they had put the wrong label on the item, but they did not ever sell clothing. The system they used was InPost who send you a QR code which you scan and put into a delivery locker and they do the rest. The problem that has happened is the wrong label has been put on the wrong package so somebody has received my item and not their shirt.

When asking Ebay about it they will not let me proceed with a claim because the item has been collected and I do not know how to explain that the item was collected but it was wrong and not mine or the sellers fault.

Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how I can speak to someone at Ebay about this.

Open an eBay return and select 'Received wrong item'.

It may seem unfair on seller, but only way for you get a refund is to open item not as described case.

Seller supplies returns label and you return for full refund.

It is up to seller to sort with ebay/courier.

I have opened a case, to be fair it is not the sellers fault that lies with the courier for putting the wrong labels on items, but I have pointed out to him that I would want to find out what went wrong if I was using that courier.

I believe that sellers don't need to address parcels when using lockers to post items.

Courier puts address label on when collecting item.

Your issue proves what a stupid system it is.
