Wrong information

I gave my vehicle information when purchasing a tensioner pulley for my car, this has subsequently failed within less than 2 years. I have then gone back to the seller who is telling me the item is not the right one for my car, however they checked the registration at the time and assured me to part they said was the right one!? Does any liability stand with the seller?

Those sort of car selection options are always a bit suspect.    The seller may be liable but I doubt they will do anything about it.    I'm afraid you only get 30 days on ebay for claims, 120 days for credit cards.
