Will I ever get paid?

Hi all,

I have bought a few bits and bobs over the last 15 or more years but have only recently sold something. The sale was made on September 23rd, the item was sent Royal Mail recorded delivery and was delivered and signed for on September 24th.

As I write this it is September 30th and the payment is still showing as on hold.  

What do I have to do to get my payment?

Your payout should be released soon,  as you have tracking showing delivery.

Payouts for new seller are placed on hold as eBay have no sellers selling history,  so they need proof items bought and paid for,  are delivered.

You now have this proof , so I would suggest waiting another couple or days, keep checking your Payment Summary, and if the money is not soon showing in the Available section there,  remember it can take a few days to clear in your bank,  contact eBay Customer Services,  provide the tracking showing delivery and ask if your payout can be released.

I do advise contacting very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open at 8 a.m. there's more chance of Dublin answering.

On weekdays lines open between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Weekends lines open between 9 a.m. to 6p.m.

A week sounds plenty to me too,  however,  each account is taken on different merits which of course for security reasons eBay wil not reveal, and some verifications just may take longer than others.

I will give it more time before trying the link you provided. Even that will get me further than I got so far. I tried that stupid robot which only ever gave me the answer that I had to wait for the item to be delivered then wait a while. Didn't matter how I worded it, I always got the same answer.

Nah, don't ' talk' to bots, contact CS on a weekday at 8 a.m. when lines just open, and hopefully you'll get a human in Dublin to answer !

Thanks very much. I followed your advice and contacted support, the issue is now resolved. Somehow, I copied the tracking number from Royal Mail email and pasted it but one digit was different, I have no idea how but it is now sorted and I have been paid.

Oh that's good to know,  and that you spotted the error, which is easily made,  we've all done it,  you corrected it,  and bingo that released the payment.
