Whats the point

i watched, bid, won and paid for a Topps Luis Diaz card on Sunday morning (23 Nov). the card was a limited edition numbered 185/399. The seller refunded me on Sunday afternoon.(23 Nov) but gave no reason why! On Monday morning (24 Nov) whilst searching for Topps Liverpool cards l noticed the same seller was selling another Luis Diaz card. On closer inspection l discovered it was rhe same card l had previously won (185/399). i contacted seller by making an offer comparable with the amount l had won the item for This was declined but the seller did not reply to my comments. The seller obviously refunded me because l won at a great price. He's relisted the card hoping to sell at an increased price. The seller really should have put a 'reserved price' on card to avoid someone winning at a bargain price!

Reserves are not necessary,  what is necessary is to start auctions at the lowest amount a seller is happy to receive,  it then cannot sell for less,  and there's no disappointment.  Unfortunately,  many do not realise this simple rule.

It's very disappointing not to receive a paid for item, and you can reflect this in feedback  for the seller, but do not mention anything about a refund,  that breaks feedback rules,  and the feedback can be removed.

Nothing to enforce a seller to send an item, but if they cancelled the order citing ' Buyer Requests to Cancel',  this does not affect any sanctions or fees for their account,  you can if you wish contact Customer Services,  explain you did not authorise the cancellation, and they may place a damaging defect on the seller's account.

eBay do not like unhappy buyers!
