Warranty - problem with seller

Hi,

I bought an alternator for my car on the 27th of August — a refurbished one from an eBay seller, with a one-year warranty. I also had to send my old unit back to the seller. Unfortunately, after 3–4 weeks, the alternator stopped working. I got in touch with the seller and was asked to send it back.

And that’s where the problems started. I sent the alternator back — the seller received it (I have proof of delivery with a photo and signature) — but over a week has passed and I haven’t heard anything from them. I’ve sent a couple of messages and tried to call them, but the number I was given goes straight to voicemail after a few seconds. I left them a message there anyway.

I’ve tried to get eBay involved, but with all the AI chat systems, I can’t really find anything that fits my problem. I can’t use the “Return item” option because the return period expired on the 27th of September.

I really don’t know what to do now.
TIA

You needed to start a return case through Ebay within 30 days of purchase.

Outside of that, the warranty is between you and the seller.
