Hello,
I'm hoping someone can make sense of a seemingly Kafka-esque situation I've found myself in.
I've been a member for 24 years now, with more than 1200 feedback ratings - all 100%. I have also previously sold items on eBay without problems.
I recently tried listing a couple of items, and was asked to verify my identity. I uploaded photos of my identity card which appears to have been accepted: although I received an e-mail saying 'Try again to verify your identity' with a 'Try again' link, when I follow that link I'm taken to a screen that says 'Thanks, we're verifying your updated information'.
That was on the 23rd October. Since then, every time I try to list either of my draft selling items I'm told my account has been suspended.
I have contacted eBay three times now to try to find out what is going on and whether they need any further information from me.
Each time I'm told there appears to be no problem with the information I uploaded, and that the issue would be referred upwards and should be resolved in 72 hours - which of course it hasn't.
I never receive any record of these conversations, and have to rely on the agents' promises that they will actually do what they say they will do; however on the evidence so far I am becoming increasingly sceptical.
Is there any way I can find out whether any problem exists, and how to get this matter resolved?
Many thanks

For selling yes,you will need a new account
With an account registered in a EU country you need a bank account in the EU region to receive payments.
There is no regional account restriction for buying

This is the UK site and your account is registered in France, you would have to use that site to confirm identity(ebay.fr),however if you are now residing in the UK you need to open a new UK account and verify details as registration country cannot be changed

As said by myself and tressygirl you need to use the French site to verify your id,eBay are unable to confirm foreign Id's on the UK site.

If you reside in France and you want to sell you need payment to be made to a French bank account, and this could be in part the issue of you have registered uk account on your account. In short if you want to sell you will have to have a French registered account.
this account can still remain, you would just need a separate email address for your new account.

At last an explanation. Thank you.
Such a shame the eBay customer services agents I've had dealings with couldn't tell me this four weeks ago.
