VAT question

Hello! I am a private seller selling some items since June 2024. Why am I suddenly getting charged 0.45 for VAT? Shouldn't ebay just leave me to declare whatever possible income I might have at the end of the tax year as part of my self-assessment? Taking into account all my capital expenses, I haven't even broke even with my items and already being charged a VAT. I only sell UK to UK.

Ebay is a business, so charge VAT on their fees.

this includes buyers premium fee.

Re: VAT question

Why are they charging me just now from April 2025? Is it something to do with how I listed an item or I can't do anything about it? I noticed, the one with the VATs are mostly the one with Prepaid label. I have not had prepaid labels before. I used to print my own labels through eBay still. Thanks

Re: VAT question

There is VAT included in the price of the prepaid label.

If you do self assessment for your ebay sales, you need an ebay business account
