I am an infrequent seller and have just sold an item to a buyer in London. They have been charged £7 VAT on a £28 item by eBay. If I understand the eBay help pages correctly this should not have happened. The automated assistant just sends me round in circles.
Can anyone advise or tell me how to speak to a real person?
Any breakdown would've been shown at checkout and on the order details, so your buyer should query this with eBay CS. You won't be able to do it on their behalf.
That's not a £28 item though - the auction ended with a sale price of £30.55 (including the Buyer protection fee, you'd receive £28.68) plus £4.45 postage.
