Unknown item received

Hello,

I have received an unknown item to my address but it says 'return to sender'. It weighs around 10 kgs. I have not opened it. It is delivered by Evri. What should I do with it?

Any ideas please.

It would help if you knew what it was.  You might be able to identify the seller using Advanced Search > Sold items.   Or it might have an invoice or packing slip inside.

I haven't opened it yet. It says 'return to sender' which is quite confusing as it indicates someone used my address to send a parcel, and is not sitting right with me.

Is it wise to open the parcel?

It weighs around 10kgs so not a light item either. It has no other information on it to help with the sender's identification.

Opening it is the only chance of finding out who the seller might be if it's not on the label.

Yes, that makes sense. I just don't want to get into unwanted trouble or some scam as it has never happened to me and seemed suspicious. Thanks for your replies, appreciate it.
