Unintentional duplication of items in seller searches

Hello,

I have noticed recently that when you do a search of 'Sellers other items' the results contain duplicates of the sellers actual items. I am talking about small private sellers usually, Here is an example :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?item=157431583929&_ssn=lotusred106&_sop=10

As of now the seller has 22 items listed for sale but the page duplicates each item so you see 44 listings as each one is shown twice ! The item numbers of each duplicated one are the same. It does this whichever sort option you pick.

Anybody else see this. I thought my eyes were playing me up.

Rob

I cannot see any duplication in that seller's listings, but my apologies if it's my eyes playing ,me up!

There are similar items for sure,  but all slightly different in description I cannot replicate the duplicate pages you are seeing.

I am using a laptop with Chrome,  are you by chance using the app?  That can throw up many weird glitches I hear on here!

It can happen.

My guess would be that it is just an error on the seller's part.

In the case of the business seller you give as an example, the duplicated items both have separate item numbers so have been listed twice.

Edit

Looking at those two boxes again, they are actually different - one has marks on the top that the second one doesn't, so not a duplicate at all.

Genuinely, I don't think this is something you need to fret about @phantomcarrier

Unintentional duplication of items in seller searches

Hello, Thanks to all for the input to this topic.

I am not using an app to view the listings. I like my nice desktop PC with a big monitor and a proper mouse ! Older aged eyes and fingers get on much better that way.

I do have some news though on the example seller that I linked to in my original post. He/she has currently 20 active listings. If you display the 20 listings setting the sort order as 'Best Match' you actually get 20 listings displayed which is as it should be. If you set the sort order as 'Highest price' or 'Lowest price' or 'Newly listed' you get 40 listings displayed or rather you get 2 duplicated sets of 20 listings but it still claims there are only 20. Each listing is duplicated in the list and each has the same item number. It is easier to see the listings if you set the display format to gallery view by clicking the box to the right of the sort order box. Sorry I should have checked if the sort order made a difference before I made the original post..........

Now does anybody believe me ??? I ain't about to loose my marbles just yet.

Time for a quick nightcap then to bed 😁
