Unethical Seller

Posting this to document what happened today and to warn other buyers to protect themselves.

I purchased an item because the original listing clearly stated it was unopened. That description was the sole reason for my purchase.

When the shaver replacement parts arrived, the sealed plastic packaging had already been cut open and parts were missing. I immediately contacted the seller and opened a return request under not as described and missing items.

After I submitted the refund request, the seller replied stating the item was as described. I then checked the listing again and saw that the description had been changed to say the package was cut. That wording was not present at the time I purchased the item.

Importantly, I took photo evidence of the original listing description before buying. Those photos clearly show the item was advertised as unopened. The updated description only appeared after the dispute was raised and conveniently matches the condition of the item that arrived.

My purchase decision was based on the original listing, not a description edited after the fact. I am now pursuing a refund through eBay Buyer Protection. Sharing this here to remind buyers to take screenshots or photos of listings before purchasing, especially where item condition matters. Has anyone else experienced sellers altering listings after a dispute was opened, and how did eBay handle it? Is this behaviour something that should be formally reported to eBay?

Note the seller even said in response to my message - that the package being cut was reflected withing the  selling price.  Days after selling the product and me taking delivery!

Item description can't be changed once a bid is made or BIN used.

Ignore seller, if they don't provide returns label or refund, escalate case on day 4 for ebay to sort.

Re: Unethical Seller

Your seller will have revised the description after yours was purchased. It is the description that was there when you purchased that matters.

Carry on with your case, and don't communicate with the seller any more. Escalate when you get the chance and you should be refunded.
