Sent an item with a tracked service. Delivery photos looks like item is not damaged. Customer has put a claim in for a refund due to just empty padded envelope arriving. Tracking shows bottom of padded envelope and you can see logos that came on the packaging in tact. Customer submitted a claim against me and only submits a real close up of a Royal Mail damaged bag. I asked him for more photos, he said he will send tomorrow. The following night he’s not sent photo so I message him for some. He goes on to tell me it’s “been in the bin so it’s been through the wars” and sends just one separate imagine of the padded envelope, showing the bottom torn off (all 9 items missing), so the customer is claiming he has just received padded envelope. Tracking doesn’t show damaged in transit. EBay have stepped in and accepted the return and processed a refund. I’ve filled a claim over 2 weeks ago with Royal Mail and still haven’t heard anything. I can only attach one photo. The tracking photo shows the bottom in tact with two triangle recycle symbols (some sort of packaging code) and what I’ve received from the buyer shows this missing. Customer who made the order had no feedback and only just signed upto eBay. I explained all this to eBay and disappointed they haven’t taken action against the buyer for false claim, but only gone in his favour and issued a refund on my behalf. If Royal Mail click on to what I’ve explained above (I’m sure they will, as they have both photos) they will most likely not pay out, leaving me out of pocket.
