eBay now also allows sellers to copy and use any other seller's photos of a similar item, so the item shown may not even be the actual one the seller is selling. Sellers are prohibited from marking photos as their own, which would reveal that they have been copied.
I simply can't understand why eBay doesn't realise that having meaningless, flowery descriptions written by a computer and photos which may or may not be of the actual item for sale can only undermine the reputation of the site.
Personally, I would most seriously suggest that sellers write their own descriptions - and state that the item in the photos shows the actual one they are selling.
