Good morning everyone.
Well I left eBay in February due to all these contentious new policy changes. Oh and I was banned 3 times from this Forum to boot. But that's in the past.
I have cautiously decided to dip my toe back into the seller's market here with my vinyl records. Having tried eBid, Vinted, Discogs and Facebook Marketplace with limited success the overriding problems are:
1. None of the above have the customer outreach of eBay
2. eBid is easy with low charges, no BPF, and you pick your own postage. You get paid straight away unlike eBay and Vinted. But it's main sales are postage stamps and cards. I've sold one item in 5 months. Pleasant site, but not specialist enough for vinyl.
3. Both Discogs and to a lesser extent Vinted are a very hard to set up an account. Don't go near Discogs, after 5 weeks it was impossible to list or set up an account. Vinted is easier, but I had multi problems trying to list. Not specialist enough however, with low outreach, unless you sell clothing.
4. Facebook Marketplace is free, but collection or personal delivery only. Dodgy, but I did sell a couple of household items locally.
So I've put a couple of items on here to see what happens. I still don't like BPF or Simple Delivery, and scanning these forums neither to a lot of users, both private and business. And there is no doubt that eBay has lost many private sellers because of it. I still fail to see why you need BPF with the returns policy and tracking anyway. And you should be paid before you release your item. i.e. If I bought an item in a shop and they said I need to wait 2-14 days to take it home, well exactly. Simple Delivery seems, anything but simple. 10% commission, 3% commission windows and pick your own postage was, in my opinion, far better.
But I'm prepared to give it another go here, at least in the short term. In a couple of weeks I'll update. failing this, it's my own website.
Trust you find the information of use.

Back after 6 months?
Not on your nelly. Blimey no wonder small private sellers have left in thier 1000s.
I've been looking at this BPF and Simple Delivery for several hours. Well it does not pay to sell anything under £10 once you add all these fees in. For example it would cost £2.70 to send one single vinyl 45rpm because they charge you the max 1kg price. It is £1.55 for 100th or one record. Add on another £1 or so for BPF and its simply uneconomical. They are ripping you off on postage and BPF. Apparently you can opt out of Simple Delivery, but try as I have I can't do it. Selling expensive items is probably worth it, but otherwise eBay is still pants. I don't need two weeks, two hours was enough to put me right off - again!
I'll keep the new account for the odd household purchase, but I definitely won't be selling anything on here - unless eBay come to their senses. Take a look at the video's about this on You Tube.

Can't opt out of Simple Delivery for vinyl records under £10.
Pointless nonsense by this joke of a company.
