Did this message come through eBay Messaging system and addressed you by your name , not your username ID? Then, looks like it came from eBay.
To be sure, do not click on any links if there, and you can contact eBay Customer Services for them to confirm they sent it.
You could also google the manufacturer, email them to confirm there is this warning when using their item.
