Haven’t sold for over 2 years. Sold item as collection only on Saturday. Contacted the buyer and gave him my phone number to arrange collection. EBay have disabled me from contacting buyer again. Was told that I am suspended. Have not received any information as to how I can get this suspension stopped.

You can no longer accept cash on collection.
Buyer pays through ebay checkout, then you can send contact info.
Ask buyer to pay, then hopefully you can message with address.

You will have to contact Ebay Customer Services and ask them what can be done to reinstate your account.
As a returning seller, you should have checked to see the changes Ebay has made recently.
You are no longer allowed to ask for cash on collection.
Buyers have to pay through Ebay checkout and then you are allowed to pass your details to the winning bidder after they have paid.
Use the link to contact Ebay - you should be able to get a callback.

Thank you Tobias, trouble is that EBay will not allow me to send any messages to my buyer. Even a helpful person at CC tried to help by rewording my message but none will go through.

Has buyer paid?
As I said, get them to pay, then try messaging again.
Ebay remind buyers if they haven't paid within 4 days.

Thank you jckl. Yes, I should have looked for the new rules. I spoke to someone on Saturday who told me the suspension would be lifted after 24 hours. That didn’t happen so I got a call back on Sunday. The helpful person at CC stayed on the phone and advised me as to how to reword the message but nothing worked, She couldn’t tell me how long this situation will last for.
I have received no communication from EBay advising me how I can get re-instated.

No they haven’t paid. I am unable to message them, EBay won’t allow me to contact.

I suggest you revise headboard listing to remove cash on collection,
It's probably not helping.

They need to pay, then you should be able to give them your address.

For some reason I can't edit. I meant to add that it will be difficult to tell them to pay if you can't message them.

No guarantee it will help, but it does sound as though you are very out of date and still need to register as a seller with a verified bank account loaded.
Have a read of this on what is now required -
