Spurious additional £1 charges / cancelled showing on bank account.

Why has my bank started to repeatedly show £1 charge cancelled from Ebay on the same day each time an actual purchase was made / completed?

Others have had this odd payment of £1 appearing and with no explanation!

It seems to be some temporary pre - authorisation made by the card provider,  sometimes,  if it's a new card or some detail such as address recently changed,  though others have seen this randomly with none of the above taking place.

It's not  charged by eBay or PayPal / your bank,  and once payment is processed,  it is refunded.

As said an explanation of why being charged,  I'm sure all would appreciate! 🙄

I thought that that may be the case but it has never happened to me before
and none of my details have changed in a long time.
I agree with you that an explanation from Ebay would be useful as you never
know with hacking / scams etc., these days.

I don't think this is anything to do with ebay,  it's your card provider.
