Hello,
recently i have sold an iphone 15 pro max using the new ebay simple delivery. This has supposedly gone missing/lost in transit. Upon looking into the terms, i should have been paid compensation, however ebay banned me from selling midway through the investigation, and supposedly this means i am not entitled to compensation.
this was a disgusting tactic used by ebay to rid themselves of liability to me as the seller and avoid paying me for the sale.
anyone know how to approach this?

What was the reason given by eBay for your selling ban?

We wanted to let you know that your account has been permanently restricted from selling because of activity we believe was putting the eBay community at risk.
conveniently, i was restricted before the case was resolved, therefore supposedly removing my seller protection.

eBay don't send those messages out to brand new accounts unless you committed some big misdemeanour in your listing or your account can be linked to another account that has got some kind of restriction on it. Is this your first eBay account, does anyone else in your household have an account that has been restricted in the past?

Yes this is my first account and as far as i know no one else has one.. i am obviously now put off from using ebay, but more importantly require the money from the sale.

The only way forward here would be to try and find out why your account received that suspension.
Do a data request:

Thankyou i have gone ahead and submitted this.
despite the account suspension reason, i beleive i should not be robbed by ebay regardless?

If there's good reason for the suspension then eBay are within their rights to wash their hands of the matter, but if there isn't pop back here when you get some answers and we'll see if there's a way to move forward.

You should not have been paid compensation, read the terms again.
Buyer should have opened a not received case, EBAY REFUND, and you keep the money.
Have you had money received in payment taken to make refund?
As a new seller money would be on hold, so it is probably still held, but I do not see that ebay can keep the money.
I doubt you will get any information out of ebay to explain the ban.
