I was just switching one of my listings from single *bleep* of yarn to a bulk sale. It's 950g and Simple Delivery recommended 2kg. No idea why, the postal bags I use are not 50g.
eBay postage £4.27
If I change it to 1kg
eBay postage £3.74
If I buy postage from Royal Mail 48 hours tracked £3.39, plus there is no price difference between 1kg and 2kg. So I charge £3.69 for anything that's a small parcel (the postal bags don't magically appear in my drawer I have to buy them, plus the labels, plus the ink. The cute stickers I put on are free.
So my regulars are going to think now she puts up the prices of postage as well.
And in a week I have no other choice to use Simple Delivery on anything above £10.
Anyway, what brilliant deals did they do with Royal Mail?? It doesn't make sense to me and it's just infuriating.
Anyone?
PS: Please refrain yourself on commenting how much items I have for sale. That's not the point. The point is the turnover and I don't make enough money to be a business. Or do you really think vintage knitting patterns sell like hot cakes? Selling yarn is a one off. It's my personal stash I have to sell because I had to give up knitting. It's very difficult for me to deal with it. It's a hobby I loved for decades and now it's gone.
So instead of posting stupid things, rather send your, friends, girlfriends, wives, mothers, grandmothers and all your male friends who are secretly knitting to my store, so I don't have to look at all the bags of yarn for too much longer. Thanks!
