So here is my issue - Having been selling on here for over 20 years, I am now being forced to use Simple Delivery. The only option I can see is bascially tracked48 and doesn't allow for special delivery etc. Normally not an issue but tracked 48 only provides compensation up to £150.... What happens if the item is OVER £150? Ebay haven't given any other options for postage but, if it gets lost in the post, Royal Mail will only pay out £150. Anyone know how to get round this?

With SD items are covered by ebay for up to £750. If item is lost or damaged in transit ebay refunds the buyer and seller keeps the payment. The buyer has to open tge appropriate case on ebay.

Have you read the guidance on Simple Delivery that has been published by ebay?
The poster who first replied to you is referring to that guidance and is correct.

You do have to dig about and read ALL of the details, including the FAQs.
Items over £750 are not eligible for Simple Delivery.
For items under £750:
Items are protected against loss or damage from the moment they are scanned into the courier’s delivery network until they are marked as delivered by the courier. There’s also no need to call the courier or customer support. In the event that a buyer raises a claim for an issue that occurs during transit, you won’t be held responsible. Even fragile items are protected when you follow our packaging guidance.
There’s no cover limit for eligible items with Simple Delivery. They’re fully protected for the amount they were sold for on eBay providing you post the item using the prepaid Simple Delivery label provided, comply with the eBay delivery Terms and Conditions, and properly package the item.

It has already been answered, ebay cover up to £750, but in terms of damage it is conditional on following ebay’s packaging guidance.
How ebay would know without a proper investigation, I have no idea, but do feel that it is open to abuse by sellers and buyers, particularly if working together.
Ebay is not very good at investigating anything at present, so why would they investigate fraudulent claims. They have never investigated claims in the past and have always found in favour of buyers, however obvious it has been that they are lying.
