Simple Delivery and buyer fees question

Now that ebay has made Simple Delivery optional for items under £20, does the buyer still pay the buyer protection fee?

SD & BPF are 2 separate things.

So Yes, buying from private sellers you always pay BPF.

I have just seen SD is now optional for items under £20, 

At least EBAY have listened to the many complaints.
