I have just purchased a signed football shirt listed as “signed football shirt with proof. The shirt came without proof & when requested the seller sent a photo of the footballer signing a sheet of numbers which were apparently to later be added to the shirt. This is his usual method of obtaining signed shirts & he has a 100% rating. I’m not particularly happy as feel the photo provided doesn’t constitute “proof” as the shirt itself hasn’t been signed.
I’d be interested to hear opinions on this from other buyers. Should I be satisfied with this photo which was only forwarded upon my request or should I expect a price reduction for the item?
Thanks.

I would open a return case for 'not as described'.

Surely if the item is counterfeit you would not be happy with a partial refund, but would wish to return it for a full refund, which you are entitled to under eBay's 30 day MBG. I also doubt the seller would agree to a partial but would tell you to send the item back for that full refund.
What does their feedback say? Are there any disgruntled buyers showing items bought were not as described ?
Where is the seller registered UK or China?

Thanks for the response.
TBH I can’t say it’s counterfeit but I don’t feel the proof is actually proof that it’s genuine.
it’s a gift for my son in lawwho will be happy either way but I feel the way it was listed was misleading.
it doesn’t help that all other buyers have given positive comments with only 1 negative.
i certainly won’t consider buying something like this again.

Hi & many thanks for your response.
I’m not saying that the item is counterfeit but feel the proof provided isn’t actually proof as it was a photo of the number or a copy of the number that was supposedly signed by the player & not the shirt.
I feel the listing was misleading. It read “Signed shirt with proof” but I had to request the proof, receiving the photo as described above. The seller is from the UK & says he has a video of the player signing the numbers but can’t send it. He has 100% feedback with only 1 negative response to a sale. The shirt is a gift for my son in law who will be happy either way but I hate to feel duped. Another of these shirts is now on EBay at the same price but the listing now says “Signed shirt with photo proof” & there’s a copy of the photo he sent me shown as well as the shirt. I get the impression he’s changed his method of listing as maybe I was the first buyer to question the authenticity of the item in requesting proof of signing.
Sorry to have rambled on but this is the first time I’ve had an issue with anything of this sort.
I’m very grateful for your input.
