Selling item I need to alter details but not allowe

You won't be able to change anything if there are bids or if you've had any offers on it.    You should be able to add info to the description though and it will appear in a separate box below the original.   And you can always end the listing early (via the dropdown menu arrow for it on your selling page) but if there are bids you may get a defect on your account.

Items with bids on, or a limited time to run, can't be changed.

What is the issue?

You may be able to add to the description of an item but if it is a major change, it might be better to cancel the item, amend the details and relist.

Thanks for info. I was notified by member contra.indicators on sizes
shown. I did full measurements of Mens suit in my description, but on
computer list these got mixed up eg waist 34 inch shown 40! And more faults
I didn’t make. Can’t communicate with bidders, tried but that stopped too.
So I shall wait until sold and contact buyer about it.

Early bidders may not see the changes.

So if they buy, can still return as not described, you pay return postage. 

May be better to end listing and relist correctly.
