I bought an item in November.
It was for a project and I have only just been able to use it and found it does not work.
I appreciate I am outside eBay's 30 return window if I simply don't want it, so I can't print a return label through ebay.
However my statutory consumer rights say if an item is found to be defective in the first 6 months I'm entitled to a full refund.
The seller is hiding behind eBay's 30 day policy and will not accept the return for a full refund.
What do I do next?

Try your payment provider. If you used paypal, they too only offer 30 days.

Contact your payment provider and see if they can help. If you used your credit card, depending on the value of the item, you should be OK.

I used a debit card, and it was only £25

If it was a new item from a UK business seller, write a letter to them reminding them of your rights and outlining what you expect them to do.
Or, contact Citizens Advice to see what they suggest.
If you bought from a private seller, or purchased from overseas, your rights are limited.
