Seller stating they're based in Ireland but address for return is in China

I recently bought some shoes from a seller, whose shop said that ot was based in Dublin,  Ireland. When they arrived the sizing was way out. What was meant to be a 39/6, is more like a very small 38/5. When I requested a return, the return address came up as China, which will cost too much to send back. Has anyone else had this problem? The seller offered me a 10% discount! For some shoes that I can't even wear!

If the location on the listing states Dublin,  then it's to Dublin it goes not to China.

This happened to me too,  a return for item not as described and the return address on the label I received was China.  Item location was Leicester, err in the UK.

I'm thinking if a seller sends a Chinese address for some reason it fools the system thinking a label is sent and the option to escalate does not appear.

I contacted CS they viewed the case,  viewed all the messages, and refunded me and closed the case telling me I could keep the item, I kindly informed them the item's new home is my bin.

Disappointingly I received a discretionary refund,  meaning eBay repaid me,  and they told me the seller gets to keep my money too!  The seller after all was selling in their thousands.

You may well experience the above certainly seems to be heading that way , in which case you may well need Customer Services later.

The easiest and quickest way to contact Customer Services is through this link, for a Call Back .

On weekdays lines open between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Weekends lines open between 9 a.m. to 6p.m.

Contact them very first thing in the morning when the lines first open at 8 a.m. as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

This is the seller's problem; not yours.   Do not engage at all with the seller, all must be done through eBay.

Some while ago eBay advised that the situation is the same as for UK.

Simply open a "not as described case" [do not use the reason "does not fit" as this is simply misdescribed].   The seller [in China] must send a label and will claim to be unable.

After 4 days escalate to eBay who should take it from there, refund and deal with the seller.
