I noticed a seller advertising dog food products that were out of date asking if they could please remove them as this is dangerous and unsafe for animals to consume. What the seller did was tipex the date so expiry dates were blank. I again asked the seller to remove this product and I believe this is illegal trading standards eBay policy. I asked eBay to step in and was told by eBay that they disagreed with my concerns. So case was closed

You should have used the report link on every listing, not try to deal with this yourself.
Is the seller even a business seller?
It can be difficult to find right reasons for reporting but these would do -
