I won an auction which had items listed and photographed, and the postage cost was listed.
Immediately after the auction, the seller contacted me for my postcode "to work out the postage cost".
I gave it (but presumably they can see it anyway?!) - but pointed out the postage cost was listed in the auction details and asked why a new postage rate needed to be calculated.
I was then told that the post office rate was much higher than they thought (double the listed cost), but the could do it for a few pence more than the listed cost if they left a few of the items out. This is someone with 100% positive feedback who has sold roughly 200 items - so not a newbie.
I have never come across this before - is this acceptable?!
