I have been a loyal eBay seller (and buyer) for over 25 years and over 7000 sales. My feedback is 99.5% currently due to 2 unjustified negatives in my opinion over the past year. Up to a fortnight ago I had close on 1500 items listed which I'm sure anyone would appreciates takes considerable time to list and manage. I then had an email out of the blue saying my seller performance was below standard and restrictions had been placed on my account. When I looked into this it transpired that over the last year I had 520 sales and 19 cancellations for items being out of stock or damaged. Please bear in mind I have been diligently selling on eBay for 25 years, I don't use other selling platforms and hoped for a little understanding around the circumstances which had led to this. Over the past year I have had a lot of building work carried out at home. The majority of my items are stored in the loft and this was all boxed due to the loft being boarded out. You can imagine the chaos of this with boxes constantly re-arranged and moved. As a result, at times, I was simply unable to access the space and frequently spent hours searching for items (often of low value, perhaps £10) to no avail so as a last resort I would contact the buyer and explain the situation. The majority were understanding and upon occasion if the item later came to light I would send it free of charge. I've made contact with eBay repeatedly over the past few weeks trying to appeal this decision, I was told by an agent over the phone that this was logged but I have heard nothing. Does anyone know how to contact a senior manager direct? Emails to customer service just produce the same unhelpful stock response.
I feel frustrated and upset after 25years of loyalty to eBay. My seller Performance before this had been above standard and you would hope they would show a little understanding for personal circumstance. I had no idea cancelling orders could lead to this. I have had to remove 1100 listings which took hundreds of hours to photograph and upload over time. Now if I cannot relist within 90 days they will be lost. This feels so unfair. If only eBay had sent a warning saying this could happen!
Does anyone please have any suggestions on how to appeal or speak to a manager? Is there any hope of getting my items relisted within the time frame. I was told over the phone that defect items would drop off the list throughout the year and help reinstate my rating but things I have read here seem to suggest otherwise.
I appreciate any thoughts or ideas. Thank you 😊
