I have just had a frustrating phone call with eBay for 40 minutes trying to resolve the following issue:
I sold a guitar amp and it arrived damaged. I contacted eBay and they said I needed to get it sent back to me so I could claim for it being damaged via eBays simple shipping. I did that and provided the refund.
I then contacted eBay to be told a series of unhelpful things.
The item was fine because it looks OK in the photo. I told the person that it was the internals that were damaged.
I should report the buyer because they missed the returns process. I pointed out that they had used it correctly. This solution was offered several times.
I had sent it broken. I told them again that it was in good working order when I sent it.
There was someone else who could help but they couldn't be reached. I asked for them to phone me back and the person told me that they couldn't guarantee that they would.
