I had a return today where the buyer had swapped out good parts for bad I actioned a call back and explained that I would refund but need to report this to Ebay the call back agent said he would open a case against the buyer, I asked the agent for assurance that the buyer would not be able to ruin my 22 years of positive feedback by leaving malicious feedback when he found out I had opened a case he assured me this could not happen. fast forward 5 hours and the nastiest piece of defamatory feedback has been left. In the meantime the case has been found in my favour. Obviously, as the case had been found in my favour I requested the feedback be removed but have just been told that this has been refused as the item did not match the description (that's correct my description did not say that the item did not work because someone had swapped out good parts for faulty). I knew Ebay was frustrating and I'm now as of 2 hours ago an ex user but how does someone take a perfectly good item remove the parts he needs sends back his faulty parts (the warranty sticker which was intact had been very carefully sliced with a razor or such like) lose a case against him and yet is still able to ruin my sellers reputation?
