Scammed

I’ve been scammed and eBay and PayPal will not help me .
Purchased a electric scooter which then got removed for a violation on sellers side .  which then I contacted the  seller and tried to resolve with him he said it’s not coming an to raise a refund to which eBay wouldn’t let me cause item was delisted due to violation and then I raised dispute with pay pal and seller contacted me and said if I cancel that he can raise the refund on his end but can’t while the pay pal case is open . So I shut the case and now he’s just kept my money and shipped me nothing an eBay won’t help and PayPal say they can’t open another case I’ve lost my money and been scammed even tho I payed eBay insurance . Please help me

Sorry, you have been scammed.

As you opened PayPal case, you can't now open ebay case.

By closing ebay/PayPal case, you allowed seller to get-away without refunding.

If you funded the PayPal payment through another funding source you could try a claim through them.

If not, and PayPal refuse to reopen your claim, that's it I'm afraid.

Even taking civil action against the seller will be difficult,  but if it's worth it you could get some legal advice.

It's not like they did nothing though, had you not closed the PayPal case you would have got a full refund that route. Sometimes you have to hold you hand up and admit that you made a mistake.

On the plus side though, you should be able to issue a chargeback via your card provider. May I ask what reason you gave for closing the PayPal claim?

The buyer protection fee isn't for this scenario.

Your profile shows you being in Nigeria.

So advice on UK site may differ.

Bizarrely the feedback link on the username goes to an entirely different username!

On any thread, under a poster's username, there are two blue clickable links, one to listings and one to feedback.   Clicking either of these under your username takes me to information for a user called mainy 6 in Nigeria with no feedback.

It's clearly a glitch.

There seems to be a problem with eBay's feedback pages. Like you, if I click on gymnuts11's feedback I get taken to the feedback page of a completely different member, with zero feedback in Nigeria.

I mentioned the same problem in another question a few days ago.

I thought it may be just the usual issue of clearing cookies, but this hasn't made any difference.
