STOLEN ITEM IN THE POST

Has anyone ever received an empty package where the item has been stolen in transit? This has never happened to me before, so I don't know how to recover my money from the seller, or claim it from Ebay? Package ripped open and all I got was the empty plastic bag, delivered by the postman, who didn't seem to know what I should do about it?! Please help. I have paid almost £80 for an empty grey plastic bag!

You need to open a returns case using the reason 'arrived damaged'.

You must not open a case for item not received as you did actually receive something.

You have to open a NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE, package damaged in transit and contents missing.

You must not open a NOT RECEIVED CASE as you received something even if an empty bag.

How ebay will deal with this I do not know, as they should refund not the seller.

The postman is supposed to place any items with obvious damaged packaging in a plastic bag with a notice on, did they do that?

No, and the young postman didn't know how to deal with this situation. I have phoned my bank to ask about stopping credit card payment, they advised me to contact PayPal, Have done this, but going round in circles. I have paid £77.97 for nothing! Nobody seems to be able to help me. I am on a pension, and this has never happened before in all my years of buying from ebay.   guess I will just have to write the money off.....

Follow the advice you have been given and open a "item damaged" return on ebay.  They will refund your money.

If you have opened a case with PayPal you won't be able to open one with ebay now.
