Royal Mail Safespace - EBay won’t pay me as the item was delivered to a safe place

Hello,

I was on holiday and forgot to stop sales. When I got back there was a case opened for late delivery. I checked with the buyer that they still wanted the item which they did and posted the parcel on Tracked 24. The item took 5 days to arrive but was delivered and I have a photo from Royal Mail. Now EBay say they won’t pay me for the item as the delivery postcode didn’t match the original postcode. All it says in Royal Mail is it was delivered to a ‘Safeplace’ with the photo of the parcel on a door mat. So in trying to make good on delivering despite my error and paying to get the parcel delivery quickly I am now twice out of pocket. EBay as blocked contact with the seller after I posted the item so I can’t check if they did receive it. Any advice? I don’t see how I can sell anything again via EBay if they refuse to accept the buyer’s Safespace. I didn’t know the Buyer was going to use Safespace or that a doormat was valid as a safe space.

That doesn't sound right at all.  Did the address you posted to match the address the buyer used at checkout? 

Are you saying the buyer redirected the package?

Can you post the tracking details on here?

Why bother, I am sure they would have been onto you if not received. Asking just tells them you have not got proof of delivery.

Surely ebay will have to release money after 14 days, unless buyer opens a Not received case.
