You have not explained the reason for the return so it's hard to give you a correct answer.
A case can be closed for a number of reasons .
Did you open it past the 30 day deadline?
Was it for a return for item doesn't fit / change of mind? If the seller has a No Returns policy on their listing, they do not have to accept a return for those reasons.
Did you forget to escalate?
