Return policy

Hi there,

I have registered as an eBay UK member since 2005 but I have actually lived in Thailand even though I also had lived a few years in Cardiff, Wales.

My question is if I buy some items in EBay UK which are stated that shipping in UK only and seller post to my third logistics agent which is in the UK. My agent will then ship them by airfreight to me in Thailand. However, if I find some dispute iwhen the items arrive with the condition of items and I’d like to return, is it still cover in the 30 days return policy?

Cheers for the answer mate.

in theory you can open item not as described case,

but seller only has to supply postage from UK address.

You would need to return item to forwarding firm for them to return it to seller.

Must also be done within ebay time scale.

Seller won't be liable for forwarding costs.

Thanks a lot for your answer. If I’m willing to pay for the postage returning to seller address from Thailand, is it covered by EBay policy? Last time back in a few years ago, I opened case, firstly, eBay team agreed for returning but seller rejected because ship to third party would be not covered in returning policy at that time. So I just wonder is there any changes by now?

Cheers mate.

It has always been the case that buyers are not protected by the Money Back Guarantee if their purchases are sent on by a third party.

As far as I know, this has not changed, so, unless your item was forwarded by Ebay's GSP, I think you would not be covered.

This gives the seller protection if the item is not properly packaged before being posted on or the shipping agent breaks an item, mixes your purchase up with something else etc.

I see, for my case, it was a football shirt which had holes and some other defects that seller didn’t mention in the description. I’d love to buy another football shirt but just worry about its actual condition.

I tried looking at MBG, but couldn't find a definite answer.

I know if sold through GSP, if item arrives damaged, GSP refund buyer.

If not as described case, seller is liable for return postage.

I would open item not as described case and see where it goes.

Sometimes ebay will refund themselves.
