Is it me or has the ebay refund system also changed recently amid all the 04 Feb hullaballoo ?
I purchased and paid for two items from a Seller; as soon as I had paid for them, I realised that the design was not the correct one that I wanted, so I immediately contact the Seller, explained, apologised and asked for the sale to be cancelled and a refund on the monies made.
Seller within a couple of minutes had kindly actioned this request and cancelled the purchase.
However, the ebay screen then said: 'You should receive your refund within 3 to 5 working days'.
So once again the Seller has refunded the money immediately but ebay are now holding on to the refund; this never used to happen - it used to be actioned as soon as the Seller had cancelled the order on the screen !
I don't recall being advised that this process was being changed - Does anyone else recall this ? Thanks.

Delay in receiving refunds is not new. It depends on how you paid. Refunds to bank account (if you used debit card) have always taken up to 7 days. Refunds to credit card always take up to 30 days although usually quicker than that.

Hi peaseblossom
Thanks for your fast response.
I admit I rarely have to cancel an order but in 14 years of being on ebay, I've never had to wait and I've always paid by debit card so something my end has definitely changed !

That's interesting. They always warn it may take up to 7 working days but maybe it was quicker in the past.
