I recently bought a pair of trainers on ebay.
Arrived and they looked fake with bad cuts, stitching, gluing, trademarks etc.
Had a chat with seller showed photos, but didn't hea back.
Opened a return, which was accepted.
Trainers arrived back with seller.
Then seller seemed to open a case which was closed pretty much immediately.
My refund arrived short of what I paid.
Ebay now not letting me appeal or chat to them about this.
What can I do?
I have photo of the trainers before I sent out that I can provide, I jsut don't understand why I'm now out of pocket for half the price of the trainers. How is that fair on me the buyer?
If anyone can help, much appreciated.

This seems very odd. The correct method is that you open a case [no point in talking to seller.. Seller sends label to return and refunds in full when tracking shows return. There is no "case" the seller can open.

What reason did you give for there return?
Item not as described would initiate a full refund (especially if the case was escalated),where as a change of mind etc allows a seller to offer upto 50% off the amount you paid if a business seller.

Just to keep you guys updated, I managed to get in touch with ebay.
Their customer service team called and couldn't understand what had happened so transfered me to a different team.
Turns out the seller had called ebay and the operative who dealt with it felt obliged to process the refund incorrectly.
Apparently the guy I talked to told me this was the second one of these he'd dealt with that day.
There were no notes on the system, so he couldn't determine what had actually happened, but I suspect the seller tried to advise the trainers where genuine and it was unfair on him and the operative took pity.
I'm currently waiting for a separate payment for the remaining part of the refund direct to my bank because the case is completely closed on ebay's system.
So it's an usual case for sure.
Fingers crossed the rest of the refund arrives soon.

Keep a watch that the remainder of the refund is paid to you, and refunds are not always instant.
Once eBay notify you the refund is made, being processed, then it's not instantly returned to you, and does go back to original payment source.
If you paid with PayPal it goes back to your PayPal account fairly swiftly.
Paying with a debit / bank card? Can take up to 12 days to appear back in your bank account.
Credit card payment? This takes the longest, up to 30 days to appear back in the card account used.
