Hi,
I bought a disc of Ebay that claimed to be new, it was around $45 plus $27 shipping.
Item arrived used, scratched plus the contents of the disc was rubbish.
I left an honest review, which was negative, and moved on.
I was contacted by the seller who offered a new one, or a refund if I edit to positive review.
Now I'm willing to delete the whole comment if I get a refund. I've looked online to see how this is done and it seems the seller needs to send me a "feedback revision request". If I accept this request and edit / delete my review what assurances are in place for my refund?
It's clear they will be two separate things and the refund will either have to be triggered by him (item stated no refunds allowed) on Ebay, or money given by bank transfer. If this is the case then he could decide not to refund upon the edited comment and walk away, or could I get Ebay to step in as the messages were sent through Ebay?
Many thanks,
Dan.

Noooo, you do not revise any negative feedback on a promise, promises can be broken that replacement cannot be enforced.
Are you still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery? Then, you are entitled to a full refund, just proceed this way.
You then go right of the item in your Purchase History, and from More Actions select Return this item, selecting the reason... Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.
The seller has 3 days to accept the case, if they don't , you need to escalate on day 4, or within 30 days, and eBay will step in and force the refund.
If the seller wants the item back first, they need to pay for a fully tracked return postage. On receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you. Again, if they don't, you escalate the case.
Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give, and do not forget to escalate.
Once you are fully refunded, and only then , you can ask the seller to send you a feedback revision if you then wish to change the feedback

Thank you for your detailed help.
I've started the refund process as you stated and will let you know how it plays out.
I may have further questions as I've never refunded on Ebay before and have never tried to refund something that stated "refunds not accepted" on any platform.
However your steps sound very sensible and I'm sur

Thank you again,
Dan.
