Hi community
I paid for an item via Paypal last month on the 13th October from a seller based in Japan. I am based in the UK. At the time, it did come across as a little strange on the sellers side indicating the item will arrive mid November. That seems a long time, but I went ahead with the purchase anyway. I have received a message from the seller on the 31st October informing me the item has been lost by the shipping company on their side. The seller has asked if I would like a full refund. I have said yes, and they have asked for my PayPal address. Can someone please tell me if there is anything to worry about here, sharing my Paypal address? As far as I am aware, the seller should already know my PayPal address, given I paid for the item on the 13th October. Can someone advise? Thanks

Assuming this is on ebay and their ebay have the same system as us the seller would not know how you paid because the money goes to ebay and they issue the payment to the seller. There's nothing inherently wrong about giving them your Paypal email address but they should refund via ebay. Tell them to do that via a cancellation or you can open a "not received" case and they can use that to refund.

Hi, the trouble is, it states the item will arrive by 28th November, even though the seller themselves have stated the shipping company on their side has lost the item. So the 'not received' option is not available to me. The seller has said after one month has passed since shipping, they are unable to send a cancellation request on their side, or file an item not-received request. I feel a bit stuck

Your options are to either give them your Paypal details and then keep an eye out for the refund or wait until the end of November to start an item not received claim.
If it was a low cost item, personally I would wait and open a case through Ebay.
