Refund for a requested return.

A buyer has requested to return an item that “does not fit” even though full sizing given in listing and I stated “no returns”. I am happy to accept the return if the buyer pays for return postage and the cost of sending the item by me is also covered by the buyer. This option does not seem available in the list sent by eBay. (I would have to cover the cost of sending the item in the first place and so be out of pocket).  Is there a way of deducting the postage costs once the item has been returned? I will, of course, get the buyer to agree to this before doing it.

Refund for a requested return.

If the buyer opens a return case for item does not fit,  they should be instructed to pay for that fully tracked return postage.  On receipt you fully refund everything the buyer initially paid you.

If they open the wrong case that is,  one for item not as decribed,  then you will have to pay for that fully tracked return postage.

Have they opened a case?  Once opened they are all automatic,  and refunds for item not as described if that's what has been opened , has to be made in full, or the buyer gets the chance to escalate, eBay step in force the refund,  and you gain a defect here, on  your account.

Refund for a requested return.

No returns can rebound on you as instead of does not fit, if buyer opens a not as described case, you have to provide a return label and on return refund in full, which works out more expensive for you. You can report a buyer if you think that the buyer has abused the return system, but it will not get any of your money back.

Far better to have a proper return policy, then less likely to have returns abused.
