Red flag syndrome

Call me suspicious but I am very sceptical of Ebay's latest change in making sellers wait two days for payment after a sale has been delivered.

Please tell me I am being stupid if none of what I am about to type does not set red flags off in many areas.

Yesterday, 18/02/2025, I watched on the Ebay app as my item finished and the sale remained on the bid it had been on for the previous two days, now although not unusual, let me finish.

I woke up today 19/02/2025 to find that the item mysteriously sold for nearly double what the bidding ended on, not only that but the seller wants to collect the item as they just happen to be in the area.

Now, am I supposed to trust, that after this complete stranger leaves with my item that I am going to be paid out in two days time without them lodging a did not receive complaint with Ebay?

Now as I have said, call me paranoid but none of this seems right and I think Ebay holding payments for two days till after delivery is flawed, especially with sales that allow collection.

Red flag syndrome

You obviously know nothing about collection items, ebsy gives buyer a code, which the must give to you before handover, you enter that and it proves delivery.

However that does not claims of not as described.

Why worry about waiting two days, are you not also aware that through charge backs you can still be forced to refund up to 6 months into the future, and that ebay are potentially at risk of having to refund, then recover from you. Only ebay know what the risk of struggling to recover from sellers who have spent the money and time spent using debt collectors.
