Hi,
I sold two sonos speakers, and posted with full ebay insurance. Buyer let me know ASAP that on receipt one of the speakers was rattling, which was damage caused going through evri courier system.
Following your advice I was happy to agree that the one damaged speaker be returned, but now know I need all items that were posted to be returned so I can claim for compensation of the damage which means buyer no longer wants it.
Buyer has come back to say if I agree to £20 discount he will keep the damaged speaker, along with the working one, which I am happy to agree to - have still given him option to return both speakers in the meantime.
If he wants to just have £20 reduced off price how do I action that? Is it against ebay policy? The buyer did send photo straight away of items and the scratch to one speaker, so I dont believe they are being dishonest, and for all the hassle I would happily give the £20 discount and close this off - thoughts and help please.

Thanks so much for your advice. In the meantime, the buyer confirmed the full payment, so we have worked out the partial refund using PayPal. However, your information is very useful going forward, although those are absolutely the last speakers I am selling and putting through post—too much stress!

If there is no partial refund link on the return at your end the buyer will have to close it and trust you to issue a partial refund from the payment afterwards. It's done via the dropdown menu arrow on right of item on your orders page. Click on Send Refund and you will be able to change the amount on the next page before you submit.
