RIP OFF - DELIVERY TRACKING

I have recently started buying from e bay and wish I hadn't.  The reason I didn't until now was doubt whether items would be delivered.  We are avid buyers from Amazon, Etsy, Wayfair etc and have never experienced this fiasco. I contacted the seller , to say the item had not not been delivered. All they did was send tracking details, that supposedly showed the parcel had been delivered somewhere.  Possibly it had, but to where? This, in effect, called me a liar. I contacted e bay and they said the item had been delivered to my address.  I don't know why they would assume that; the tracking details show only that the parcel has, supposedly, been delivered somewhere.  Several weeks later, a very damaged box was put in our garage.  I knew, at once, what it was, even though I didn't expect the item to be delivered to our address.  I contacted e bay again. They said I would get a QR code on e bay and had to return it. I took the parcel  to the post office but they couldn't  scan the code clearly from my phone (we don't have a printer).  I was then ill, in bed, for several days.  When I was able to get back to this matter, I contacted e bay, yet again. Their answer is that it has been longer than 14 days, so that is my hard luck. It makes me question the safeguards that buyers from e bay have.  I would, now, not order items more expensive than £20.  When parcels purchased from Amazon have (occasionally) been lost, they tell you and issue a refund, so that you can order the item again.  A very dissatisfied customer of e bay.

You can't compare Amazon to ebay.

Ebay sell nothing & seller chooses delivery courier.

If tracking shows as delivered, ebay have to accept it, no point if not believed.

TBH. This happens a lot, with carriers misdelivering, but no proper way round it.
