When you look at items on Ebay, it always states an approximate delivery date. If the seller had set up time away, that would have been taken into account, even if the item stated, for example, 'free delivery in 2 days' the delivery date below that would reflect the seller being on holiday.
You can request that the seller cancels the purchase.
They may not be accessing messages and they can refuse anyway.
